Privacy Policy

Who we are

mold.pt is an independent information resource on damp and mold in Portuguese homes, run by Pascal Niggli. This policy explains what information we collect when you use this site, how it's used, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email hello@mold.pt.

Information we collect

We collect two kinds of information:

• Information you give us directly. If you use the Contact page or the Request a Diagnostic form, we collect what you enter, typically your name, email, phone number, property location, and a description of what you're seeing. Photos you choose to upload are included in that submission.
• Information collected automatically. If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, approximate location at a country or city level, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This does not happen unless you accept the cookie banner.

How we use it

• To respond to a contact or diagnostic request you've submitted, and to match you with a specialist where relevant
• To understand which guides and pages are useful, so we can improve or expand them
• To maintain the security and technical functioning of the site

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Legal basis for processing

Where you submit a form, we process your information because you've taken an action requesting a response, this is a legitimate interest in providing the service you asked for. Analytics cookies are processed only with your consent, given through the cookie banner, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or adjusting your browser's cookie settings.

Third parties we work with

Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy policy. We only share what's necessary for the service they provide, form content with Formspree, anonymized usage data with Google Analytics.

Data retention

Form submissions are kept for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and, where relevant, manage an ongoing case, generally no longer than 24 months unless a longer period is needed for legal or accounting reasons. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings.

Your rights

If you're in the EU or Portugal, the GDPR gives you the right to:

• Access the information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Request a portable copy of your information
• Lodge a complaint with Portugal's data protection authority, the CNPD

Cookies

mold.pt uses a small number of cookies, all covered in detail in our Cookie Policy. Analytics cookies only load if you accept them through the banner shown on your first visit.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
